At EnviTronics Lab, our story begins with a passion for the land and a fundamental belief in the power of technology to nurture it. Founded in 2006 as the Irrigation & Drainage Research Group (IDRG) by academics and farmers, our roots are deeply embedded in both soil and science. To better serve the commercial R&D market, this group was formally incorporated as DurUntash Lab LLC in San Diego, CA in 2019, later evolving into EnviTronics Lab LLC as we established our operations in Western New York. Today, we serve as the dedicated R&D arm for Hydrowise, Inc. (QC, Canada), continuing our founding mission: to revolutionize environmental and agricultural management with intelligent, accessible technology.
We are driven by a simple, powerful goal: to provide truly empowering technology.
We believe innovation should not only be cutting-edge but also practical, accessible, and respectful of the people who use it. In an industry trending toward locked-down systems and recurring fees, we take a different path—one built on transparency, ownership, and trust.
Our approach is defined by these principles:
We transform these principles into reality across the full spectrum of modern sensing:
We are inherently collaborative. By partnering directly with universities, industry leaders, and growers, we ensure our technologies are scalable, from intimate research projects to expansive commercial farms.
For over 18 years, our team of makers and researchers has broken new ground with this ethos. Our legacy includes patented research, commercialized products, and a steadfast commitment to publishing and sharing knowledge. Every innovation—from our early ultrasonic sensors to today's integrated monitoring systems—is built with a focus on real-world utility, sustainability, and user empowerment.
We invite you to join us in cultivating a smarter, more sustainable, and more independent future. Let's explore what’s possible, together.
